Amman, Jordan—November 2014: Continuing in its efforts to provide leading telecommunications services as well as strengthening Jordan’s economy, King Hussein Business Park and Umniah have announced the launch of its Data Center. The new establishment compliments Umniah’s operations in the local market and helps it to offer reliable services and solutions to local businesses.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of the MENA ICT Forum 2014, which was held at the King Hussein Business Park under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II. More than 1,200 industrial experts and decision-makers based regionally and globally participated in this year’s Forum to discuss the latest industrial trends and challenges. 

Dr. Moayad Samman, the Chairman of the King Hussein Business Park, mentioned that: “The Data Center is considered to be one of the King Hussein Business Park’s most important facilities, which is equipped with advanced networking capabilities including fiber optics, state-of-the-art infrastructure, the latest IT technologies and advanced security systems where the business park is now working on boosting its services in this field. Umniah’s choice to expand its data center operations and safeguard the data of its many clients within the business park proves that efficiency of the business parks’ efforts and expansion plans of our data center facilities and Disaster Recovery Center future plans to conserve data of local and regional companies in various sectors”.

In a recently released press statement, Umniah stated that the Data Center will run Umniah’s services including internet services and professional solutions for business customers. The newly launched center will be an extension to Umniah’s data centers.

The CEO of Umniah, Ihab Hinnawi, commented on the occasion saying: “The industry is witnessing a significant regional and global expansion as more companies require safe storage for their data due to the increased usage of online platforms”. Assuring the importance of this new partnership with King Hussein Business Park for the newly established Data Center that uphold all international standards to manage Umniah’s services and the sector.”

It was further confirmed that the center will be designed in accordance to the latest international standards with sophisticated levels of resilience, security and operational experience with providing cloud computing and Internet services to ensure the basic needs of corporations and business customers are met. The Data Center aims to serve companies located in and around the Business Park offering them strong telecommunications services on a 24/7 basis.

Mr. Hinnawi stressed the importance of offering reliable backup solutions to companies affiliated with the King Hussein Business Park as well as ensuring the highest standards are maintained at the center.
