Eng. Eng. Soror stated that the management of the Business Park is pleased with the design submitted by Faris & Faris Architects and looks forward to working with them to take the design from concept level to project execution, and to attract investors and developers to invest in the development of the business hotel. He also added that the management of the Business Park is in the final stages of completing the Strategic Conceptual Master Plan for the King Hussein Business Park Development Area, which will span more than 1.4 million sqm and will include mixed-use development including commercial, health, hospitality, retail, entertainment and residential.

Architect Faris from Faris & Faris architects stated that: “Winning the competition for the rehabilitation of one of the business park’s existing buildings and transforming it into a hotel, left within us a profound sense of gratitude. It prides us to have been given the opportunity to participate in this prestigious architectural competition, which revitalized the competitive spirit among the invited architectural firms.

The main challenge of this project, is to transform the existing building into a hotel, by changing the current use and increasing its area, in order to accommodate the new program and area requirements. In addition to its strategic location, the project’s importance lies in satisfying and complementing the needs of the King Hussein Business Park by designing a hotel that will serve the Park’s users, guests, businessmen and investors specifically as well as contributing to the Jordanian hospitality and hotel sector in general.

International standards are adopted in the hotel’s design to conform with the specific functional requirements of hotel buildings, within a unique architectural mold. Innovative structural solutions have been implemented to take advantage of the existing structural elements in order to preserve the integrity of the existing building and seamlessly merge it into a new entity.

Finally, we can’t but express our joy for winning and for the existence of such competitions which are a catalyst for Jordanian creativity and innovation which contributes in enriching our built environment with projects of excellence.”

It is worth noting that King Hussein Business Park is a high-quality landmark complex that offers a mixed-use class-A office space that’s ready to host local, regional, international companies and start-ups, integrated with a convention center, disaster recovery center, commercial and retail outlets. Companies operating in KHBP enjoy working in a modern and safe workplace, supported by state-of-the-art data and communications network and infrastructure, and a competitive business environment and tax incentives as a development zone.
